Enhanced Metrics

The Enhanced Metrics extension for Download Monitor takes your reports to the next level.

After installing the extension, new features will be available in the same WordPress dashboard > Downloads > Reports section.

In the Overview tab:

  • You will have the possibility to select a wider variety of periods for your reports, or select a completely custom one from the built-in calendar.

  • You can now compare your current period with previous ones to check your growth.

  • Export download data in CSV format (keep in mind that in order to do this, you will need to also have installed and activated our Download Monitor CSV Exporter extension).

  • The table containing the downloads information will have more data shown: completed, redirected, and failed downloads, logged-in/logged-out downloads, categories, and tags.

  • You can now filter your displayed downloads based on: download name, category, or tag.

  • The columns shown in the downloads table can be controlled as well, allowing you to show only the information that you are interested in.

In the Detailed Reports section, you will be able to filter your downloads by status (completed/redirected/failed), by user, category, download name, and location.

As an extra, you will also have a separate table with your most active users.

Reports General Settings

These settings can be found by navigating to Downloads > Settings > Advanced > Reports.

  • Max logs duration: in order to avoid running out of hosting space with ever-increasing logs, you can set a limited time these logs are available. The default period is 1 year.
  • IP Address Logging: choose if you would like to store the IP addresses of users that download your files.
  • Count Unique IPs only: the counter for each download will only increment and create a log entry once per IP address. This feature is only available when the above option is set to “Store full IP address”.
